WELLNESS CARE
Wellness examinations (check-ups), vaccinations and annual blood work are important as they allow us to prevent and catch diseases earlier.
At Arbor Hills Veterinary Centre, we see all of our patients at least once per year, twice is preferred. This time spent together plays an important role in increasing our odds of detecting problems early, before they become severe and costly.
During an examination we will:

Check your pet from head to tail

Pay special attention to your pet's heart, lungs, ears, eyes, joints and muscles

Discuss and determine best vaccinations for your pet

Screen for infectious diseases and parasites
During exams we will ask you questions about your pet's lifestyle and behavior.
We welcome your questions and encourage you to get involved in your pet's health care.
Puppy and Kitten Care
Kittens and puppies should be initially seen around 8 weeks of age and every 3 to 4 weeks until they reach 14-16 weeks of age. These visits will allow us to administer important vaccinations as well as deworming and parasite testing to make sure they are in the best of health. The owner must have the puppy or kitten for at least a week before we will administer vaccinations. This is to allow the puppy to get adjusted to their new environment before the stress of vaccinations.
